...about Town With Mayor Bob
Working Together Decatur is Doing Awesome Things!
Several things are happening in our town this week.
The biggest news is that our BBQ building at Veteran's Park sustained major damage last night during a fire. No one was hurt and our fire department did an amazing job saving the structure. We will begin repair work very soon. Chief Jeremy Luker just reported that the department was out on calls until 5:00 am today. Remember to thank our Volunteer Fire Department.
On Thursday Crystal Lake Farms was honored as a business in our city with a ribbon cutting ceremony, which included employees, members of the Decatur Chamber of Commerce, and city officials. Welcome to Decatur Crystal Lake Farms.
On Friday a new drive was installed at the cemetery. This drive exits off of Highway 102 at the far east side of the cemetery. This drive will make traffic flow safer and give improved access to the 10 acres we have recently opened up. The city crews recently put more gravel on the driveways throughout the cemetery.
At the corner of Hill Street and Highway 59, we have installed a new flag pole, removed 2 large trees, and painted the sign with a fresh coat of white paint. Coming next week a new sign will bear critical information about Decatur. Decatur Sports Department dedication ceremony at this location is planned for 1:00 pm on Monday. Public is welcomed to attend and enjoy our new sign.
