City of Decatur, Arkansas Actions to prevent COVID-19
Updated March 18, 2020: Effective immediately there will be no meetings held in city buildings in the City of DECATUR of more than 10 until March 29, 2020, per the request of President Donald J. Trump. This will be reviewed as needed.
Further in compliance with CDC directive, after March 29 which supports President Trump's request as stated above, or an adjusted date to be determined, for 8 weeks with ending date on approximately May 1, 2020 we will limit meetings to 50 or less.
As of March 16, 2020 the Iva Jane Peek Public Library will be closed to the public until further notice.
The community room will be closed to any and all events of 50 or more people for the next 8 weeks. Per the CDC.
3/16/2020: City of Decatur Arkansas Precautionary Measures
Please pay all water bills online at https://pay.softtelpay.com/ or by calling 1-855-483-5729. There will be a small fee. You may also drop off the bill in our drop box located just to the left of the front doors. However, we will still be open to the public until further notice. There is a hand-sanitizer stand there by the window for your use. If you are sick, running a fever, we ask for you to take precautions and seek medical help. Please help us keep from spreading the Coronavirus.
The city is taking all measures to keep its employees and citizens safe by monitoring all city employee temperatures.
Park restrooms are being sprayed down daily and maintained.
Patrol cars are being sanitized and wiped down throughout shift and with every encounter.
The DMV will remain open on Wednesdays from 8 am to 4 pm and being closed from noon to 1 pm for lunch.
